OUR OBJECTIVES
To encourage sports fishing, pistol & rifle shooting, archery and other related activities.
To develop a better knowledge and safe handling of firearms and good safety practices.
To actively co-operate with similar organizations in the protection of our British Columbia soils, waters and natural habitat.
To promote better relations between land owners and sportsmen.
To provide club facilities for the use of members.
To promote and disseminate a knowledge of safe and proper practices in fishing, hunting and related activities among the youth of our community.
Our temporary range is located in the Sportstown BC building at 4991 No. 5 Road, between Cambie and Westminster Highway in Richmond. We have an Archery range with champion archers to teach and assist. Equipment is available on site for those not having their own. Also we have an air gun/rifle range at the same location. Until the construction of our new range on recently purchased property is completed, we cannot accommodate handgun and .22 rifle shooting. Snail traps with returning targets, have been purchased and stored in preparation for our new range. Funding request under sports grant from the Province of BC have been applied for.
On Oct 10th 2006 our Club Pres. met with another lending institution and had some positive feedback, further discussions to be held.
Talks are still on to see if what we can do to either obtain funds via loans etc or if some other similar club would wish to join and share costs. This has been an ongoing and very slow process to say the least. Hopefully our shooters now will not all be in homes and wheelchairs when this project comes to pass!!
